Artist Statement
When you look at the sky, it engulfs you for a moment. You notice your singularity, your existence in relationship to the world. Nobody really looks up at the sky or contemplates the world as it was, as it is, or as it could be. It is too big and its details so small – to see and to feel takes time. There is a universe both outside and within us waiting to be found. I make artworks through many mediums, both traditional and digital, that strive to engulf people in the experience of life, even if it’s just for a moment – what the skies, the flowers, the stars…the rare and shared experiences we have, might feel if we were to notice them. I want to allow people to be surprised into taking time to look at life or maybe one day, soon, walk into my many versions of it.
